The Copyright Society of Malawi (COSOMA) was established in 1992 under section 41 of the Malawi Copyright Act of 1989. Its main function is to promote and protect creativity. COSOMA falls under the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Culture. 

Vision Statement
To be a vibrant and sustainable Society that promotes and protects creative works in Malawi in which copyright subsist.

Mission Statement
To promote and protect creative works in which copyright and related rights exist and to ensure that the owners of such works are adequately remunerated.
